Position Assessment- As senior class VP, I have been working on Senior Sunrise and class merch. At the end of junior year, we sold senior sunrise t-shirts and purchased tye dye for us to use. The weekend before school started we had a tie dye party at Ava B’s house where a lot of people came to tie dye their t-shirt. At pow wow, we had a table to pre-sale the senior class merch. Prior to that, we designed a crewneck, hoodie, and t-shirt. We will also be selling at Club Rush. We have done a lot of work with Davina regarding purchase orders for Amazon. Ava B contacted Sunshine Donut and Ripon PD about senior sunrise. We had a meeting with Mr. Yonan regarding the Disneyland trip and what the officer team needs to get involved with.
Standing Committee-I am on the sign committee. Being a part of the officer team means putting up the signs in front of the school donated by the class of ‘22 and ‘23. The first week of school we put out “welcome back” signs in front of the school.
Special Committee-As the school year is so new, I have yet to join a special committee, but I look forward to doing so as the weeks progress. Whether that is for the BTSD or HOCO, I look forward to getting involved.
Mentorship Eval-At the leadership bonding day, Tori and I took each other's pictures for our websites. In class I helped her set up her website and answered any questions she had regarding weebly and the year in general.
Concerns/Changes-So far the year has gone pretty smoothly the only thing I think is that everyone could ask more questions. We need to discuss things more as a class and ask more questions just to get more clarification about everything. When there is open communication and lots of questions, everything goes much smoother.
Positive Comments-I have been very impressed with my class and the leadership class as a whole. The officer team has been working diligently. We are very on top of things and have been planning for the rest of the year. I am very proud of the growth that the class of 24 has made. We have been communicating better and we haven’t let little disagreements get in the way of work that needs to be done.
Core Principles-I really like our core principles this year. I like that posters and stickers have been made as a constant reminder of them. In previous years, we have forgotten our principles throughout the year because we didn’t talk about them after core camp. I especially like the one that says “Your puzzle piece matters”. In leadership, everyone’s part matters. If someone doesn’t do their job, someone else gets in trouble. To execute a good event, everyone needs to do their part and help out where it's lacking.
My Impact- As the senior officers we have done a lot of things differently, in the hopes of making a greater impact on our class and RHS. We decided to do different colors for our class merch. Our crewneck is white and our t-shirt is red. We wanted to switch things up and keep things fresh. We also decided to move senior sunrise to Mistlin because we thought we would have more room. I think our class seemed to love it and it was much more spacious. I hope that these changes have been positive in our class.
Katie Rhodes ASB Report September
Position Assessment-I have been super busy in the last month. We designed our class merch and ordered it. They came in last week and have been organizing and taking inventory. We are planning a day in the following week to do a distribution during lunch. Me and the fellow officers have been very busy with HOCO things. We have been holding practices for lip sync. We have been filling out PO’s and receiving packages. We have all of our designs for the float and window. We began working on our float this last weekend and we’re super excited for the end product.
Standing Committee-I am a part of the yard signs committee. Other than Club Rush we haven’t put out the signs. We plan to be out there everyday during HOCO to put the signs out and put them back in.
Special Committee-I am a part of the publicity for HOCO. I completed a canva post for the seniors dress up day and turned it into Jenna already.
Mentorship Eval- Tori and I completed our goals together for the upcoming year and for the future. Any questions she has had I’ve tried to help her with.
Concerns/Change- So far we have done very well this year but I would like to see the seniors branching out a little bit from the middle table and sitting with someone new.
Positive Comment- The senior class officer team has been working well together. We have been super respectful to one another and have been working on everything together. We haven’t procrastinated and we are very open to hearing each other's ideas. I’m super excited to see what we can do this year.
Core Principles-I think the core principle I have followed the closest is “Evolve and grow with change”. With HOCO coming up we have gone through a lot of ideas and a lot of them didn’t work. We had to evolve and grow even when our ideas weren’t working. My favorite core principle is “Your puzzle piece matters”. I think I have been staying true to this and staying on top of my work and being a good team player.
My Impact- I have been trying to talk to more people and get to know more people in the leadership class. I want to be a good role model and I remember how excited I got when seniors would talk to me freshman year. I want to get to know as many people as I can this year
Katie Rhodes Senior Class VP January 2024 ASB Report
Position Assessment-Throughout the last month I have been working on various projects. Our main focus has been Winterfest. I wrote the letter that was taken to Home Depot, requesting to use their shopping cart. I attended Ava Brocinnis house several times to work on the poster, lemonade stand, and shopping cart. We arrived early the morning of the rally to decorate the gym and set up the posters. During the rally, we put the sashes on the candidates. The following week we arrived at school at 7:15 am to set up the lemonade stand as well as the shopping cart. On Thursday night, we attended the girls basketball game to announce the winner of Winterfest.
Standing Committee- As a senior officer, I am a part of the signs committee. During Winterfest, we set up and picked up the “WINTERFEST” signs every morning and after school.
Special Committee-I am currently not a part of a special committee.
Mentorship Evaluation-Tori and I completed the January mentorship project. We created a vision board for our 2024 year that included several things we wanted to accomplish this year. Throughout Winterfest, I answered several of her questions and helped her navigate through her first Winterfest in leadership.
Concerns/Change-This is an observation from Winterfest but the sophomore officers and the sophomore class need to step up and help Emme more. There is no reason she should be doing everything by herself or drawing help from the seniors and ASB. The effort for Winterfest was low in general and we need to pick up the intensity for the rest of the year.
Positive Comment-The freshmen have been doing so well this year with Homecoming and now Winterfest. They are so creative and strong for a freshman class and I am so proud of the work they have created this year. Specifically Colt has been going over and beyond and I can see him working extremely hard.
Core Principles-One core principle that sticks out to me that I feel I have fulfilled is “Evolve and Grow With Change”. This year more than ever I have been trying to be more flexible and evolve with everything that is thrown at me. I have had several things I didn’t like happen and I chose to deal with it head on or evolve with that change in my life. I have learned to adapt to the things I am not used to.
My Impact- My impact has been through sports and giving my extra time to other school activities. I play three sports and this winter season has seemed extra time consuming. Although soccer takes up most of my time, I have been trying to attend as many meetings, other sporting events, and Winterfest work times as possible.
Katie Rhodes Senior Class VP ASB Report February/March
Position Assessment- These last few months have been super busy with senior events. Not only have we been preparing for graduation, but cap and gowns, class gift, yearbook distribution, and so much more. We have had several meetings and weekly ones as of this week, regarding these events. We passed out all of the caps and gowns and have moved on to class gift and yearbook distribution. We are awaiting approval from Rangel to extend the lunch period for senior yearbook distribution during lunch. Pending this approval, we will be obtaining some sort of treat for the senior class. We are researching a podium to purchase as our class gift. We are meeting Thursday morning to blow up balloons and pass out the college reveal invites. We approved the funds to purchase the banner for College Reveal night as well. We will be scheduling a meeting with Yonan regarding Disney bus signups. We have also been working on our gift to Yonan for the end of the year banquet. We have a busy couple of months ahead of us with events and PO’s.
Standing Committee- I am a part of the signs committee and we have not used them since Winterfest.
Special Committee- Regarding the Challenge, I am a part of the Gift to Staff project. I suggested that we get mugs and fill them with some sort of candy for the staff members. Devin and I completed the PO for the candy, mugs, and bags. We will be ordering those soon.
Mentorship Evaluation- Tori and I’s mentorship has been going very well. We worked on the 5 dysfunctions of the team together as well as coloring our coloring books for each other. We created the 5 dysfunctions collage and wrote our letters to each other. I even saw her at church!
Concerns/Change- My only concern would be that we have a lot of big events coming up like Prom/Graduation etc. and we need a lot of help from members of the program that aren’t directly in charge of that event and I’m worried that the help will be scarce. Throughout the year, the willingness to help has been low and all hands need to be on deck for the spring events.
Positive Comment- I think that a lot of the issues people have been having are being addressed, slowly but surely. With our accountability talks and WAS’s its been giving people the opportunity to step up and take responsibility.
Core Principles- A core principle that I feel has stuck out to me this month has been, “Evolve and Grow with Change”. Senior year has hit me with a lot of obstacles, many that I didn't see coming, so I have had to evolve and adapt. It’s not always easy to adapt because we want things to go our way. College has been one of those big things that you have to adapt with, because they choose you, you don’t choose them.
My impact– My Impact has been through talking to many groups of people these last few months. I have become friends with a lot of underclassmen and they have been asking me a lot of questions. It makes me happy that I can help by sort of guiding them in a certain direction or giving them advice I wish someone had given me.
